Position Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical nursing services in support of FCC operations. The LPN is responsible for patient assessment, emergency response, medication administration, documentation, and coordination with other professional disciplines while adhering to all federal, facility, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
The LPN shall perform the following duties:
Observe, assess, and monitor patients' clinical conditions, recognizing and responding appropriately to emergent or serious situations.
Formulate nursing diagnoses based on patient assessments and available clinical data.
Initiate immediate and appropriate interventions in emergency situations to ensure patient safety.
Operate and monitor general and specialized nursing equipment required for patient care.
Administer medications and therapeutic treatments as prescribed by the FCC-referenced physician.
Administer respiratory treatments when licensed and trained, in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
Accurately document patient observations, nursing interventions, treatment effectiveness, and care outcomes.
Maintain detailed records of coordinated activities with other professional disciplines, including security personnel and EMTs.
Answer routine and emergency calls to the nurse's suite.
Manage routine communications by answering phones and responding to emails.
Record and store employee treatment records using government-designated systems and methods.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, the Privacy Act, and FCC information technology security policies.
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and by-laws of the on-site facility.
Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe software for documentation and reporting.
Maintain proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
Wear a government-issued contractor identification badge while performing duties.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Licensure and Experience
Active, current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license within the Continental United States.
Minimum of 24 months of relevant nursing experience within the last 24 months.
Minimum of two (2) years of practical nursing experience as required by the FCC.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Physical ability to perform all assigned duties.
Required Certifications and Training
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Case Management experience preferred.
Ambulatory Care and Community Outreach Nursing experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years required; 1 year within the past 12 months preferred.
