As the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room (OR), you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of 19 operating rooms. Surgical specialties performed in the OR include Transplant, Robotic Surgery, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Genitourinary, ENT, Plastic Surgery, and Pain Management.
Nurse Manager responsibilities include ensuring the highest standard of patient care within your department. Your role includes daily operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining regulatory readiness, supporting Shared Governance, and collaborating daily with surgeons and multi-disciplinary teams. Your dedicated leadership and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families every day.
This position is a Monday-Friday schedule and requires flexibility to meet the needs of the department.

Requirements
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and the delivery of safe and quality nursing care.
- Provide clinical direction and supervision of nursing care, maintaining quality outcomes, and adherence to patient care standards.
- Mitigate risk, identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Direct daily staffing and assignment decisions to support timely and efficient management of OR cases.
- Develop quality initiatives, implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of surgical care.
- Day-to-day management of caregivers, promote career growth and development, evaluate performance, follow HR policies to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
- Participate in budget planning, monitor budget, approve purchases, and establish/revise inventory quotes.
- Monitor OR hiring needs to ensure adequate staffing.
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing(BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or through American Red Cross within first year of hire
- Three years of recent clinical nursing experience including at least one year of healthcare management experience
- High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
- Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future Nurse Manager include:
- Two years of Operating Room manager experience, including high-acuity, complex services lines such as CVOR, Thoracic, and Neurosurgery
- Master's Degree in nursing, business administration or healthcare-related field
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
- Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
- Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
