ABOUT THIS ROLE:
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing advanced level nursing and providing direct patient care. You will support and mentor lower-level nursing staff while delivering critical hands-on care and directly impacting patient outcomes and staff performance in our facility.
Key Responsibilities: (These responsibilities are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Deliver patient care, including medication administration, treatment implementation, vital sign monitoring, physical therapy assistance, and execution of medical procedures.
Conduct comprehensive mental and physical patient assessments through interviews and diagnostic tools.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including healthcare plans, treatments, and case histories; ensure compliance with all protocols and reporting requirements.
Educate patients and others on diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and counseling.
Provide prompt emergency interventions related to patient health needs.
Perform additional duties as necessary to support the healthcare team and facility operations.
KNOWLEDGE:

Delegating and assigning work.
Providing healthcare services.
Preparing and maintaining patient records and information.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
10-hour night shift
$1.50 Shift Differential for applicable hours worked
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. plus a degree or diploma from a state approved professional nursing program and 1 year of related experience.
HIRING RANGE:
$85,282.25 - $100,332.05 Annually

Full time positions with Prince William County Government qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (Public Service Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid)
Hiring incentives will be paid out in two (2) equal installments. Fifty percent (50%) of the incentive will be paid after ninety (90) days of employment and fifty percent (50%) will be paid following the completion of the probationary period. Probationary employees that voluntarily terminate employment with the County, shall repay the net amount (minus state and federal taxes) of the first bonus installment via a deduction from their annual leave payout and/or remit payment of any remaining balance within thirty (30) days following separation of employment from the County

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse License: CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass local, state, and federal background checks and have a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, puling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Inmate Services. Work is performed in an inherently stressful environment and involves risk to personal safety with the possible exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens.
