Requirements
Responsibilities:
Oversee Medication Administration
Train staff, in the classroom and on site, in medication administration upon hire, as medication orders change, and annually. Monitor any positive/negative effects due to medication changes for people who receive services. Complete quality assurance on Medication Training procedures, evaluations and practice Annual Health Assessments
Complete annual Nursing Assessments, developing a service plan of care Train direct care staff and person served on findings from the assessment Physician Orders
Update and transcribe physician orders as necessary Receive, review and check for accuracy the monthly delivery of medications, physician orders and MARs. As well as complete a monthly review of Medication Administration Records for completeness and accuracy.
Hold a current valid Illinois license to practice as a registered nurse with a minimum of one-year clinical experience within the past 5 years
Basic user knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), and/or other PC applications. Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company requirements. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the RN-Trainer provides services for Residential clients by establishing and maintaining medication safety and maintaining medication safety, training, delegating, and monitoring the effective execution of medical administration tasks. Performs applicable tasks of a Nurse-Trainer for a non-licensed staff training program.

Originally formed in 1956, as a school for children with developmental disabilities (The Lansing School of Special Education), LARC has grown to provide services and supports to approximately 100 individuals across the Chicagoland Area.
