Requirements
- Master’s degree, doctoral degree (DNP or PhD), or postgraduate certificate from a nationally accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) program required.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure with Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification/credential required.
- 7+ years of progressive nursing and leadership experience, including experience spanning multiple hospitals, sites, or health systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based nursing practice, quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical practice transformation.
- Demonstrated expertise in nursing-sensitive indicators, including falls, pressure injuries, and hospital-acquired infections.
- Experience leading or influencing professional nursing governance, policy development, practice standardization, and system-level implementation.
- Experience with nursing product evaluation and clinical practice integration, including evaluation of products and technologies based on evidence, outcomes, and nursing practice needs.
- Experience with external benchmarking and comparative performance data, including the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI).
- Demonstrated ability to translate evidence into standardized practice and influence clinical outcomes across multiple organizations, markets, or care settings.
- Strong executive presence, communication, relationship-building, and systems-level leadership skills, with the ability to partner effectively with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders.
