About the Role
Impact Support Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our health-related services. In this vital role, you will ensure our individuals receive high-quality medical supports, provide clinical oversight, and serve as a subject matter expert for our staff. You will be the bridge between healthcare providers, families, and our program teams, ensuring that every person we serve can live their healthiest, most independent life.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Oversight: Manage the health and medical needs of individuals served; oversee medication administration, inventory, and controlled substance counts.
- Team Leadership: Support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and provide nursing delegations and direct support when required.
- Staff Training: Educate and train staff on medical protocols (seizure, choking, PRN, medication administration, etc.) and specific individual health orders.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation, Medicaid-compliant billing, review MARs, complete HRST (Health Risk Screening Tool) assessments, and conduct AIMS (Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale) reviews.
- Collaboration: Participate in CMRO nursing reviews and collaborate with Program Managers to develop and execute Nursing Review Action Plans.
- Advocacy: Participate in planning meetings for individuals with medical exceptions to ensure their health goals are integrated into their daily support.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Clinical Assessment: Ability to accurately assess complex medical needs and solve problems proactively.
- Communication: Excellent writing and organizational skills; ability to maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Nursing (RN).
- Licensure: Valid Missouri RN License is required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Compliance: Must possess a Class E Missouri Driver’s License (or be willing to obtain one), proof of vehicle insurance, and pass a criminal history background check.
- Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications required by the organization including, but not limited to, CPR/First Aid, NCI, PBS, Certified Level 1 Medication Aid instructor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability and strength to position/lift/transfer greater than 50 lbs. (an adult human being) regularly, including the ability to safely assist an adult human being to the ground to perform CPR
- Continuous ability to push and pull 100-125 lbs. of pressure consistently over extended periods as per requirements of performing CPR, as defined by the American Heart Association
- Continuous ability to kneel on hard or other surfaces for extended periods, as per requirements of performing CPR
- Type on a keyboard for long periods
- Vision sufficient to read medication labels and dosing instruments and/or to view computer screens for extended periods of time
